Early Life and Discovery
Ahmed the elephant was a giant gentle born in the vast jungles of Mount Marsabit, in North Eastern Kenya in the year 1919. His childhood years are not well documented, still, he was raised in the wilderness which provided him with a great understanding of the difficulties and richness of the African savannah.

Following Ahmed’s death, the Kenyan government took steps to honor his memory. President Kenyatta urged taxidermists to work on Ahmed’s body so that they could preserve his body for generations to come. Great measures were taken to preserve Ahmed’s body and today they lie at Nairobi National Museum.
